We’re Dan's Painting & General Contracting, and we’ve been a general contractor in Newton, MA, since 2017. We offer painting, carpentry, remodeling, gutter installation, and more. Communications were always prompt and clear, which left us in no doubt as to what was happening and when, even when schedules had to be reorganized. As for the work: * Dan directly connected with our supplier of floorboards to determine how to install something new * Improvised well on jobs that needed some creativity (stairs). * Pointed out and gave advice on problems that we weren't even aware of (air flow in the garage) * Organized specialized work for us (sanding/polishing of floors) * Shared his broad knowledge with us * Did a first rate job on the painting throughout the house Most of all though, it was a pleasure working with someone so thoroughly human.

After having a less than stellar experience with a contractor, I hired Dan and his team to finish the job, and I have zero regrets. He finished and painted my front porch and it looks amazing. Communication was great, and expectations that were set were met! I also have peace of mind knowing that the work will now last, as a result of their finish work. Dan has turned what was heartbreak into a part of my house I now love. In addition, Dan was honest and forthright. When the manufacturer of railings he was going to install changed the design, making it impossible to install on my steps, he was up front about the problem, wracked his brain for a solution, and ultimately took the railings off the quote. He has promised to find a solution, and I have confidence he will! I would hire Dan again in a heartbeat. I’m so pleased with the results.

Dan replaced our gutters and the work was excellent, completed in one day, and the team cleaned up completely afterward. Very happy with the work, and done at a very good price, too. Dan even threw in a section of PVC to replace some rotted wood hidden by the old gutters. Will call Dan again for any general contracting!
